MEGALO RESIDENCY PROGRAM

Our artist-in-residence program is a supported residency opportunity open to artists at all stages of their careers.  The selected artists receive a stipend and studio access to Megalo’s comprehensive, professional printmaking facilities. Artists from outside the Canberra region also receive accommodation. The residency program aims to support the making of new work that meets the program objectives of excellence and innovation in printmaking.

Applications for the 2025 Residency Program will open in late 2024.

Contribution from participants
Participating artists contribute a representative body of work produced during the residency to the Megalo archive. The archive collection is used for the purposes of exhibition and scholarly research.  Artists may also be asked to present and discuss their work at a public forum. Megalo will hold the right to reproduce work made by residents for future promotion of Megalo programs but will in all such instances fully acknowledge the artist as the maker of the work.

Accommodation at Cargill's Cottage
Residents from outside the Canberra region are provided with shared accommodation in Cargill's Cottage, a heritage-listed building close to our studios. The dwelling was constructed in 1927 as housing for one of ten dairy farms in the area.  The property has a live-in caretaker and two bedrooms for artist stays. The cottage is close to many amenities such as shops, markets and nature walks.
