AN AUSTRALIAN WAR MEMORIAL + MEGALO PRINT STUDIO PROJECT

To mark the centenary of the First World War, the Australian War Memorial commissioned the Anzac Centenary Print Portfolio. Featuring work by five Australian and five New Zealand artists, the portfolio explores the Anzac legacy and commemoration in a contemporary context. Artists have been asked to respond creatively to the history and legacy of the war, as well as to the significance of the Centenary to both countries. It is intended that this trans-national exchange reflect a diversity of artistic perspectives and constitute an important cultural response to this key historical event. Working at Megalo Print Studio in Canberra, artists will develop their work under the technical oversight of master printmaker John Loane between May 2014 and June 2015.
